Stand up paddleboarding and kayaking with your dog can be a fun and rewarding experience, but it's important to be prepared and take safety precautions. Here are a few things to expect and tips to help you prepare:

  1. Vessel selection: You'll need to choose whether you want to learn on a kayak or SUP and which one your dog might be more comfortable with.

  2. Dog safety: Make sure your dog is comfortable in the water and wears a properly fitting life jacket. Don't have a canine flotation device? - Don't worry, we will provide one at no additional cost. We also sell them in our retail shop.

  3. Paddle technique: If you don't know how to paddle, you'll need to learn the proper paddle technique for stand up paddleboarding or kayaking to ensure a smooth and efficient ride. Our instructors are there to teach you the basics.

  4. Practice: We'll start with some basic instruction on our dock, then we will transition into the calm, flat water, once you feel comfortable, we will venture into the bay for a short distance.

  5. Be prepared: Bring plenty of water and snacks for you and your dog, as well as sunscreen and a hat to protect you from the sun. You should also bring a waterproof bag to store your phone and other valuables. If you don't have one, bags are available for purchase starting at $10.
